Privacy policy
PerchWise tracks your subscriptions and trials so you notice before it costs you. That needs data. This page says exactly what we hold, why, who else sees it and how you remove it.

What we hold and why
Your account
Your email address, a hashed password and your language setting. Without these you cannot sign in and we cannot tell whose subscription is whose. If you sign in with Google or with Apple, they give us your email address and a stable identifier so we can find your account again. We never see your password with them.
Your subscriptions
The name of the service, the amount, currency, frequency, status, payment date, the end date of a free trial and your own notes. This is the content of the app.
A photo you scan
We never see the photo itself. The text recognition lives on your device: Vision on iPhone, ML Kit on Android. The photo is read where it sits, never crosses the network and is never stored. What does go to our server are the lines of text that came out. There we lay them alongside a list of known services to turn them into a suggestion. No language model is involved, not here and nowhere else. We do not keep those lines of text; what remains is the subscription you confirm.
Access to your camera and your photos
To take or choose a photo the app asks permission for your camera and your photo library. That is permission to open a photo, not to collect one. You can withdraw it again in your device settings.
Purchases
If you buy Premium, the payment goes through the App Store or Google Play. We see no payment details. RevenueCat tells us which tier is active and until when.
Feedback
If you send feedback from the app we keep your message, the app version and your language, so we can answer and fix it.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no ad networks.
- No analytics or tracking packages in the app.
- No language model in the chain: not your photo and not the text that comes out of it.
- No selling or renting your data to anyone.
- No profiles for advertising.
Who else sees data
- RevenueCat, to know your subscription tier.
- Apple and Google, for the purchase itself.
- The company our server runs at, as a technical supplier.
- Resend, if you send feedback from the app: that mail goes through them.
- Google, for logos only: the app fetches a service icon from Google's favicon service. That shows which domain is requested and which network address it comes from.
Nobody else. Your photo goes to nobody, not even to us. We only hand data to an authority where the law requires it.
Notifications
Reminders for a free trial, a renewal and the last day on which cancelling still counts are scheduled on your device itself. No push message travels through a server and no push token is stored.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. Delete your account and your data goes with it: your account, your subscriptions, your notes and your feedback. Server backups expire within thirty days.
Deleting your account
You can do it in the app: Settings, at the bottom under your account. It is immediate and permanent. If that fails, email privacy@perchwise.nl and we will do it within thirty days.
Your rights
You may see, correct, delete or take your data with you. Seeing and taking it works straight from the app through the export to clipboard. For the rest an email is enough. If you disagree with how we handle it, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
Children
PerchWise is not made for children under sixteen.
Changes
If something material changes we update this page and you will see the new date at the top.
